Read below on Tom's thoughts on the first few weeks of the 24/25 season! 

With the new season coming upon us, it’s always exciting times. With a new manager, 2 new signings and a new outlook on Barnsley FC, the new season is proving to be a gamble early on. New Manager Darrell Clarke will have his plate full from the get go after two seasons where we have just missed out on promotion but with a good squad and two experienced signings through the door it’s looking like Darrell means business.

 

Our first signing of the 24/25 is Conor Hourihane. A club legend. With his eagerness to return being shown over the years it was inevitable he’d be back at the well. An absolute statement signing as he has the experience this younger squad seems to be lacking and with him taking up a role on the sidelines you can already see the positive impact he’s going to have back at Barnsley.

 

Our second signing of the season came just earlier on with Marc Roberts signing the dotted line. Once again another big signing from Darrell bringing in yet another experienced player who could have a great impact on the team. After a good spell the last time he was at the club and a good couple of years away, it’ll be exciting to see how he cracks on back home.

 

Overall the pre season looks to be more promising than ever before. As a lifelong Barnsley fan I have a great feeling about what’s coming and am very excited to see how Darrell and the team perform this season. With the transfer window still being open we could absolutely make some big signings still, just a waiting game for us all.
